HGSS Zlatar Bistrica: a course for rescue in non-urban conditions

The course on rescuing and caring for an injured person in non-urban and inaccessible areas was held on April 1 and 2, 2023, in the premises of the Croatian Mountain Rescue Service - Station Zlatar Bistrica.

On the first day, theoretical and practical work was done in the following segments: Basic life support of adults and children with the use of BLS+AED and the use of medical oxygen; Securing the airway, applying the "Heimlich" grip; Limiting the mobility of the spine; The use of immobilization means with the aim of immobilizing the extremities; Stopping the bleeding, supplying the wound with a bandage and a triangular scarf and a complete examination of the injured person - trauma examination. On the second day, the following topics were covered: Packing the victim in a transport stretcher; Use of transport stretchers; Transportation of the victim on inaccessible terrain; Transport with a stretcher from a height and Knowledge check

21 candidates completed the course.
